Michelle has over 20 years of experience in the legal and business sectors in Israel and The People’s Republic of China. Michelle established and manages the Firm’s China Desk in Shanghai.
Michelle specializes in guiding Israeli and foreign clients through all legal stages of doing business in China, and in assisting Chinese clients in their investments in Israel, particularly in relation to complex, cross-border Hi-Tech, project finance and infrastructure transactions, corporate, M&A and joint ventures. In China, Michelle also advises on general corporate, intellectual property, real estate, dispute resolution and foreign trade matters.
- In China, led clients throughout the registration of their FIEs; the negotiation and execution of joint venture agreements; handled various activities related to M&A transactions; management and restructuring of PRC properties; sale of PRC real estate and the remittance of proceeds abroad, under SAFE regulation (State Administration of Foreign Exchange).
- Represented corporate clients on various legal matters related to the day-to-day operation of their FIEs, including: protection of intellectual property; preparation of various commercial and labor related agreements; labor compliance under PRC labor law; dispute resolutions in both PRC’s local Courts and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission;
- Acted as a facilitator and mediator, on behalf of the Israel Ambassador, between several Israelis sub-chambers in China, which led to the execution of the agreement that set the guidelines for the establishment of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in China.
- Formerly General Manager, Chief Representative and Legal Representative of Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in China in the retail and trading sectors.
