The event started with the INNONATION Flying Summit in which the firm’s partner, Michelle Tzhori, gave an opening speech and spoke about the similarities between Israel and China, which overcome cultural and language barriers. In addition, she described to the guests that have not yet visited Israel what they should expect from the encounter with Israel – a welcoming regulatory environment, open for direct foreign investments; young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs that think ‘Innovation’ at every hour of the day; a market with vast opportunities and useful technologies; a place in which solutions for today’s problems are constantly been reinvented
In addition, Adv. Tzhori participated in the signing ceremony of the new $250 million investment fund and platform for Israeli med-tech between Chinese IT Corporation Neusoft and Israeli-Chinese private equity fund Infinity Group, held during the flight from Beijing to Tel-Aviv

Partner, Omer Ben-Zvi, participated in the panel “Chinese Perspective on Israeli Innovation” in the 2016 China-Israel Investment Summit – Innonation, along Hongwei Chen, Executive Director of Investment & M&A in Tencent, Holo Zheng, Founder and General Manager of Techode Israel, and Dai Hui, former Strategist Planer at Huawei
The panel discussion was covered by leading financial newspaper Calcalist for its importance in understanding the challenges and opportunities in the China-Israeli relations. Adv. Ben-Zvi stated that the difference between a Chinese entrepreneur and an Israeli one is that the Chinese will take his company all the way to IPO, while the Israeli will sell it quickly and move on to new ideas and projects without it meaning necessarily that it is not a good company. This and other important differences may cause serious gaps in the perception of a Chinese investor and an Israeli entrepreneur, which is why it’s so important to have a legal partner that understands both mentalities and have enough experience to guide both sides in the business transaction.
Most importantly, our firm organized the first startup competition in Israel for medical and Life Sciences-InnoVmed in which 44 leading Israeli companies participated, 10 of which got to present their technologies in front of the audience and the judges.
Partner and Head of the China Desk, Michelle Tzhori, was the moderator of the competition. In addition, partner Ofer Ben-Yehuda, who is an expert in the Life Sciences field, participated as a judge in the competition along with Liu Jiren, Chairman and CEO at Neusoft, Coco Lee, Chief Financial Officer at Hefei Tianhui Incubator of Technologies, Bo Liu, Investment Director at Infinity Group, Yun Jiang, Analyst at Shanghai Alliance Investment, Claire W Sha, Managing Partner at AriMed, Michal Rosen-Zvi, Director of Healthcare Informatics at IBM Research, Pini Ben Elazar, CEO at Mor Research Applications, and Levi Shapiro, Partner at Veritas Digital Health Fund.
DiaCardio was the Israeli company that won the competition. DiaCardio is a software company that invented a new image processing technology. Using this new technology, DiaCardio created fully automated tools to evaluate ultrasound imaging with an initial focus on “ultrasound of the heart”. DiaCardio’s tools can be easily integrated to any ultrasound unit or healthcare IT system (cloud base or not).
