Ronit Neiderman and Maayan Berg advised Israel Ports Company – Development and Assets Ltd. (“IPC”) in the preparation of a tender for the operation of a coastal container transfer service between the Port of Haifa and the Port of Ashdod.
IPC is a government-owned company responsible for the development and management of state assets designated for port activities. במסגרת the tender, which is open to both local and international bidders, a winning bidder will be selected to operate a coastal container transfer service using a dedicated vessel between the Port of Haifa and the Port of Ashdod. The purpose of the tender is to reduce congestion on land transportation routes by shifting containers from roads to maritime routes, enabling the safe and efficient transport of containers, thereby reducing the number of trucks traveling on the roads between the ports and improving supply chain efficiency. The service model is innovative both in Israel and more broadly, and includes financial incentives and a safety net for the successful bidder in providing the services.
Ronit and Maayan advised IPC on the preparation of the tender, which was drafted in both Hebrew and English, from the stage of defining the legal and professional requirements and setting the threshold conditions, through the drafting and preparation of the tender documents, including the engagement agreement, and the establishment of commercial mechanisms. Now, following publication of the tender, our team will continue to advise IPC through the selection of the winning bidder.
