Representation of Endymed Medical Ltd. in Complex Legal Proceedings Regarding a Banned Ingredient in Cosmetic Gel

Adv. Nati Amnon and Adv. Sirin Hadad (alongside Adv. Adia Waltman) successfully represented Endymed Medical Ltd. in a complex legal dispute spanning over seven years, brought by B4U, concerning a banned ingredient found in a cosmetic gel manufactured by B4U and used in Endymed’s aesthetic devices. The legal process included both claims and counterclaims and was triggered by the recall of the gel by French health authorities due to regulatory concerns.

The disputed ingredient was part of a cosmetic product marketed in Europe and Israel, and the legal process raised intricate questions regarding liability, causation, and regulatory compliance. At the heart of the case was the claim that the gel did not meet the European Union’s regulatory safety standards.

After hearing testimonies from expert witnesses in toxicology and regulatory science, the Tel Aviv District Court (sitting as the Economic Department) ruled in favor of Endymed on all 101 grounds raised in the lawsuit. The court fully adopted Endymed’s position and awarded the company damages of approximately NIS 800,000, to be paid by the opposing manufacturer for reputational and financial harm.
