Amir Iliescu represented the Dock Venture Capital Fund in its investment in Olea, a Singapore-based fintech company revolutionizing global trade finance.
The transaction involved a complex cross-border investment structure, reflecting the growing intersection between fintech, AI, and Web3 technologies in the global trade finance sector.
Olea is a platform for financing international trade transactions with a financing volume of $3 billion, backed by 30 financial institutions, and connecting over 1,000 suppliers and buyers across more than 70 trade routes. Olea’s platform bridges capital seeking secure financing with exporters looking to shorten payment periods, in exchange for a fee ranging between 1% and 3%. Beyond the connection, Olea is responsible for assessing transaction creditworthiness, ensuring a high probability of capital repayment. The $30 million funding round was led by BBVA.
