Lance Blumenthal represents Assmont GmbH (the contractor) in the design, manufacture, assembly and installation of the Racking Structure pertaining to the construction of an automation facility at the Ashdod Port. Following the successful completion and hand over of Phase 1, Assmont has been commissioned by the Purchaser with the execution of Phase 2 of the pallet farm which will provide an additional 80,000 pallet positions in an automated shuttle racking system with a project value of approximately 30 million euros.
There is an increasing demand for storage but the cost of physical space (literally, real estate) make it very difficult to expand logistics infrastructure to meet the growing need.
The innovative logistics center currently being built at the Ashdod Port provides a solution – just as cloud storage has revolutionized data storage, the project offers a “Pallet Farm” that provides an automated system for container management and distribution, thus significantly reducing required warehousing space and becoming less dependent on manpower and in so doing, saving costs.
